Account Executive

Position Overview:
Govplace is searching for an experienced, performance driven Account Executive to grow and expand our presence with the federal sector. This individual will focus on solution based selling methods in order to drive new business opportunities into our customer base. This responsibility will be accomplished by establishing professional working relationships while developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client and crafting an appropriate technical solution to meet those needs.

The ideal candidate will work in tandem with their cross departmental colleagues specifically with marketing, capture management, business development, engineering and service delivery to formulate a sales strategy which will ultimately lead to the successful achievement of their aggregate goals. This person will be a key company asset specifically as it relates to driving the growth of the overall organization.

Govplace is a rapidly growing $110M government technology reseller and integrator. We leverage performance based contracting to develop enterprise data center efficiency solutions exclusively for the public sector. Our deep experience leveraging BPAs and IDIQs to capture projects and programs has helped us secure market share inside agencies including Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and the counties of Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego. This position is based in Reston, VA.

The Account Executive will:

  • Develop a comprehensive execution plan for building and closing a pipeline of addressable business within DHS through direct customer interaction, vendor relationship development, and key partner alignment. Govplace has built a strong presence within the Department of Homeland Security and is currently a top vendor on Department-Wide Enterprise Acquisition Vehicles. The success in DHS to date has provided a foundation and opportunity for continued expansion into this exciting and nationally vital market.
    • Provide a comprehensive briefing on target account goals and high priority projects
    • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of Govplace core offerings, map those to account needs and establish a resource and  action plan to generate pipeline
    • Demonstrate consistency in proactive customer engagement utilizing engineering and executive resources
    • Identify a pipeline of qualified opportunities that represents at least 3X that can close within that 12 month period
  • Establish team strategy to drive new business and maximize internal resources including pre-sales engineers and key partners. The end result will be the development of a successful and repeatable methodology that will provide consistency in execution and predictability in stakeholder engagement.
    • Meet with internal resources to understand key areas of expertise in order to engage assistance in driving new business
    • Define a set of activities to be undertaken by inside support resources that will ensure accurate and standardized data population in CRM, and a 25% increase in total contacts per account to be completed within 6 months
    • Engage presales engineering resources on opportunity meetings with customers to ensure progression of key deals

The ideal candidate brings proven success in solution based selling to federal in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment. Experience should include strength in all facets of account development including face to face customer interaction, internal resource coordination, teaming, and all other activities required insuring the highest win rate possible. They will bring a proven track record of successfully profiling accounts, delivering value propositions and qualifying accounts. The candidate will be a leader who is sales-focused, responsive, creative, strategic, and proactive, with the ability to work with all levels of management. Experience in DHS accounts preferred.
