Project Manager
Position Overview:
The Project Manager will lead engineers and business analysts to deliver products and services and support capture of new contracts. The successful candidate will lead the planning, tracking, executing, controlling, reporting and closeout for designated projects. The PM will be responsible to the client and the Sr. Manager, Project and Program Services, and must balance the needs of the business with the needs of the customer and of the project team. The PM will be accountable for quality and timeliness of project deliverables, as well as, accountable for planning, tracking, and delivery of project financial goals and objectives. Earned Value Management (EVM) knowledge and experience in agile development methodologies is required. Knowledge of and experience applying current best practices such as PMBOK, ITIL, CMMI, ISO or other frameworks is highly desirable. This position is based in Reston, VA.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Accountable for meeting and/or exceeding project financial goals.
- Accountable for the quality and timeliness of project deliverables.
- Responsible for communicating strategically with clients to bridge project gaps and accelerate results.
- Provide clear and concise communications with internal and external customers, including outside vendors.
- Responsible for developing winning proposal content.
- Responsible for ensuring PM practice/processes are followed by project team.
- Ensure internal organizational processes are followed by project team.
- Responsible for planning, tracking and other project management lifecycle activities.
Requirements include:
- BS/BA Degree required. Desirable concentrations of study include project/program management, business, economics, information technology and related engineering.
- 3+ years broad management experience supporting Federal clients, preferably in a large government program, in the area of System/Product Acquisition Management, Program Management, Project Planning/Execution.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and practices.
- Project Management Professional® (PMP®) certification or ability to obtain one ASAP.
- Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management Standards and practices application.
- Demonstrated experience within agile software development methodology.
- Knowledge of Information Technology Services Management, ITIL Foundations certification strongly desired.
- Strong oral and written communications skills to develop management plans, technical documents, correspondence, and briefings.
- An ability to build effective working relationships with customers and co-workers at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling applications.
- Competent with Information Technology terminology, including software, hardware, networking and data center domains.
- An active TS Clearance is highly desirable.
