Storage Connectivity for the Enterprise Datacenter

Networking storage greatly enhances storage efficiency and manageability. Govplace ASE certified engineers work together with HP, the worldwide leader in storage area networks (SAN), to deliver flexible, open, standards-based storage infrastructures that enable your enterprise datacenter to be adaptive to future needs and growth.

Customer Storage Area Networks

County of Orange Datacenter SAN
When the departments over at the County of Orange, required a fault tolerant storage solution, Govplace was called in to custom design a high-availability SAN to fit each agencies individual needs. Govplace ASE certified engineers worked closely with HP to minimize the complexity of the SANs, reduce the total cost of storage ownership, and decrease the stress of owning a heterogeneous storage environment.

UCSB Storage Area Network
While working closely with the University of Santa Barbara, Govplace analyzed the problem areas within their storage architecture. The University was administering several servers individually from different departments making their storage difficult to manage and administer. The inherent weakness in these several potential points of failure resulted in an unacceptable amount of down time, including 4 hours of downtime on the first day of class.

Govplace was able to work with UCSB to develop a high end SAN solution incorporating multiple high density servers with centrally monitored data storage in a controlled environment (power, temperature, air flow, etc.) By consolidating the school's data into fault tolerant hardware, the monthly per-server licensing costs and therefore total cost of ownership was greatly reduced.

Now the college maintains an uptime of over 99% with greatly increased efficiencies.
